Absolutely the freshest, cooked to order, take-out Chinese in Marin. There are a few tables if you want to dine in, but their take away business is bustling. They are super thoughtful about accommodating special requests and food allergies. The war won ton soup with seafood, beef, chicken, and extra veggies is amazing on cold nights! And, my pup is on a restricted diet for a while and she loves their steamed brocolli! Only theirs. It is yummy. They made a special order of plain broccoli. So kind.

I have lived in Taiwan for a few years and traveled a bunch throughout China. I know Chinese food. Hulu Wa has great good - authentic, delicious, quick service. I live in Los Angeles and make sure to stop here whenever I'm in town. Wish I had a great Chinese restaurant like this near me... 你们的菜都非常好吃的。加油!

Ordered in DoorDash - I believe there really isn't a restaurant- just a window for pickup and a few seats? Well that's fine for us - Chinese and take out are synonymous to us lol. Happy to say that having recently moved from Oakland to Novato that we have found our Chinese takeout for sure. As an ex-NYer I'm pretty picky about my Chinese and other places we've tried were pretty average. Food was fresh and tasty. Dumplings were a cross between gyoza (wrapper) and dumplings (fillings) - I believe the owners are Japanese Hawaiian? - and we loved them. Pork fried rice and pork chow fun were solid and the wanton soup was excellent. Highly recommend. Looking forward to trying other items.

We come every week, because the taste and quantity are so good. Other places have the same dishes, but the taste is superior here. And the portions are generous. Our two favorite dishes are the Sesame Beef, and the Broccoli Chicken done Szechwan style - spicy - with garlic. It's off menu - you have to ask for it, but it's worth the effort if you like spicy. The service is also excellent. It's a small place, but they are very responsive. Their dishes are all good - you will probably love it as we do. Highly recommended!

Was looking for some good Chinese food while in the area and this is another one that the Yelpers got right! This appears to be a pick up only place and only has a couple of tables to eat. Nonetheless, I walked ordered the food and you could see the chef cooking up the food. This appears to be and is a mom and pop place where the family is making everything right there and then fresh. The service was good although (didn't pack me any utensils and sauces after asking to make sure they were in the bag). As for the food, it was delicious, good flavor and plenty of proteins unlike other places where they load up on the vegetables and don't use much meats. I was happy with the mix of proteins to veggies and with the overall taste. One of the best Chinese food places I have eaten at. As for the ambiance this is truly a mom and pop restaurant serving up good quality and fresh food right from their kitchen. I wound definitely recommend this place and will be back when I'm in the area again!

The quality of food is noticeable! We didn't dine in but ordered through door dash and we were sooo pleased and satisfied with how the food arrived steaming hot and the portions were perfect! I recommend the soups!! Especially the sweet and sour and wonton one. Will recommend and dine in next time.

Well, we hadn't been to Hulu Wa for quite a while and so decided to circle back and see how they're doing. Overall, I have to say I was a tad disappointed with this excursion. We had lunch specials - kung pao shrimp and pork with string beans - neither was exceptional. I don't know if they were shorthanded that day but it took an extraordinary amount of time for us to 1)have our order taken, 2) get our soup, 3) get our entrees. What I thought would be a 'quick lunch' ended up well over an hour. Hopefully it was just a glitch, since we really enjoyed their food when they first opened.

This spot's Chinese food is my go-to remedy for homesickness. Coming from New York, it's the closest I've found here that reminds me of home. San Francisco has fantastic Chinese food, but it's a whole different vibe from what I grew up with. The idea of not being provided duck sauce is insane! I've gotten over it. The dumplings are spot-on, just how I like them. Not to mention, after a satisfying meal, your belly's full, but you've got all the energy in the world - no post-feast sleepiness. It's the sweetest family-owned place, generous portions, and the taste is top-notch. The restaurant is a hole in a wall type place but that's what makes it cool. It is clean and quiet so you eat in peace.
